Sneak Peak: Melissa & Tim

October 2011

Melissa and Tim married this weekend in Nashville—a fall wedding with a very visible fall theme. That fall theme was prevalent throughout Melissa’s bridal and bridesmaid’s bouquets, eight brilliantly colorful bouquets in all! Each bouquet boasted its own personality, defined by a variety of unique flowers and colors.

Each masterfully handcrafted bouquet was composed of a colorful blend of paper flowers, felt flowers and a few fabric-made, tattered rosettes for a soft, vintage flare. The bouquets also featured roses, carnations and several whimsical, WhimWed originals, resting on a bed of felt leaves! Each of the eight bouquets were stylishly finished with an open-stem design and wrapped in burlap.

Melissa’s bridal bouquet featured the addition of gorgeous, ivory hydrangeas, handmade and hand-dyed from paper coffee filters! The cornerstone of Melissa’s bridal bouquet was a single flower made from portions of the wedding dress from her mother, her grandmother AND a ring from her grandmother! Both Melissa and her mom were teary-eyed and speechless when they first saw her timeless, heirloom bridal bouquet.

March 2011

Wedding 101 hosted a Rock Star-themed style shoot featuring products from many of their “rock star” wedding vendors representing all of the major wedding categories—photographer, videographer, floral designer, cake designer, beverage service, make-up artist, wedding dress…oh, and a bride—local songwriter Laura Veltz. Joe Hendricks Photography handled the shooting and took some amazing shots using numerous locations and creative vignettes surrounding the very photogenic Factory.

WhimWed’s most rockin’ bridal bouquet was featured in the shoot—a red and black, multi-layered, feathered bridal bouquet. Who says a bridal bouquet needs to be mostly white? This bold bouquet is mostly amazing! This breathtaking, couture bouquet is composed of over a dozen of WhimWed’s signature chic, multi-layered, fabric flowers. Each handcrafted flower is made of high-quality satins and accented with a unique jewel center, interspersed with soft, black feathers. Its stem is wrapped with bold, black satin, accented with a rockin’ ring of rhinestones, topped by a light bed of organza.

February 2011

WhimWed took a road trip to Chattanooga TN to meet up with the talented STUDIO 6.23 for an exciting photo shoot of our handcrafted bridal bouquets. Ben and Mindy took amazing pics after scouting perfect custom locations for each bouquet, demonstrating off-the-chart, all-around talent and creativity! “Juxtaposition” was the word for the day, as high-quality, couture bouquets were shot in contrasting urban, unlikely settings. Each handcrafted WhimWed bouquet has its own unique personality, and that personality was beautifully captured and portrayed in these photos.
